This is a blog written by a woman who is passionate about vegan food and even more passionate about eating it. Here you will find a collection of my family's favorite recipes . . . and some they can't stand.
For those of you who have ever asked me why I won't eat honey, please take a moment to read the entry at My Face Is On Fire. Thank you for sharing the article, M.
It was my pleasure! It came up in conversation in a forum I frequent and when I brought it up to a former vegetarian friend of mine, he insisted that there was nothing about honey production that isn't in keeping with vegan ethics. I'd never really researched it much before then, so it was neat to stumble upon that clearly written piece. :-)
It really is a great piece and I was excited to be able to have it as a permanent reference. Whenever I have been asked about honey my generic response is that bees don't make honey for us. I have gotten sick of arguing points with people over the years and this usually shuts them up long enough to think about my comment, thus avoiding the argument.
I am the mom of a teenager, I work full-time outside of the home, and I am always struggling to find balance in my life and time to put dinner on the table. Most of the recipes I make are borrowed from other people with my own spin added to it. I hope you enjoy your visit to my recipe box.
